Mason Jar Arrangements

More and more clients are asking me about these, so I wanted to share a couple of quick tips for DIY floral arrangements in mason jars.  It’s not impossible to make them yourself if you have a very small wedding, or to have a family member or other non-professional florist make them for you, but it is a big job and requires a couple of things:

1. The ability to refrigerate the flowers, or to pick them up from a wholesaler the morning of your event

2. At least twenty minutes per arrangement to create the piece and then place the flowers. That means that if you have 10 tables, you need to budget about three hours to make the centerpieces once you have your materials gathered. This works much better for a night event than a morning one!

3. Helpers – It’s really best if you can have someone else do this. I always caution my clients who think that they will have time to handle a big project like this on their wedding day – You will have so much else on your mind, and who needs that kind of extra pressure? If you can recruit four or five people to assist, have several hours allocated, and have access to wholesale or bulk flowers, it is possible if you plan in advance!
